Chandigarh, 16 November 2024: Since March 2022, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab has provided over 48,000 jobs to the youth through a transparent recruitment process, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, joined by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said during and appointment ceremony.
He assured that the initiative would continue, focusing on creating more job opportunities for the state’s youth.
Kejriwal encouraged the newly appointed police personnel to serve with integrity and dedication, underscoring the AAP government’s commitment to restoring stability and creating better employment prospects in Punjab.
He congratulated the 1,205 candidates who received their appointment letters out of the total 1,746 new recruits, assuring that the remaining letters would be issued shortly.
Reflecting on the state’s improved law and order situation, Kejriwal emphasized that the Punjab Police had been strengthened with advanced infrastructure and technology. He contrasted the current security environment with the challenges the government faced when it came to power, pointing to a significant reduction in gangster and anti-social activities.
Kejriwal also noted a recent influx of investment exceeding ₹60,000 crore, projecting that it would create over three lakh job opportunities, spurring Punjab’s economic growth and prosperity. He remarked on the swift progress under AAP’s leadership, contrasting it with what he described as the decades-long mismanagement by previous governments.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann urged the newly appointed personnel to honor the legacy of the nation’s martyrs by dedicating themselves to their duties. He invoked the memory of Kartar Singh Sarabha, whose martyrdom day was being observed, calling for commitment to the ideals for which Sarabha fought.
Mann credited Kejriwal with elevating issues such as health, education, power, water, and infrastructure to the forefront of national politics, stating that these areas remain top priorities for his administration.
He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to make substantial improvements across these sectors, pledging ongoing efforts to meet the needs of the people of Punjab.
