Chandigarh, 4 January 2025: Punjab Roadways, Punbus, and PRTC employees plan to halt bus services for three days, from January 6 to 8, to press their long-standing demands.
Employee leaders Pradeep Kumar and Arun Kumar announced that gate rallies will be held at various depots on January 6, with a demonstration planned at the CM House in Chandigarh on January 7. On January 8, a full strike will occur, blocking all buses.
Their key demands include regularization of long-serving raw employees, fixed salaries for outsourced workers, provision of new buses, and halting the recruitment of employees from outside states.
Despite multiple meetings with state government ministers, employees claim their concerns have been met with unfulfilled promises.
