CHANDIGARH, Sept. 28 – Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Punjab government is committed to rebuilding the state following recent floods, launching a campaign called “Mission Chardikla” to coordinate relief and recovery efforts.

“Our farmers have to cultivate again, children return to school, and flood-affected families rebuild their homes,” Mann said, stressing that the mission goes beyond immediate relief.

The government has set up a War Room in the Chief Minister’s Office to monitor progress, while Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said special care is being taken of people and livestock in affected areas. Farmers whose crops were damaged will receive compensation.

Mann also noted support from citizens and organizations, including a ₹2 crore contribution from Union Bank of India, describing public participation as a symbol of solidarity.

Officials said Mission Chardikla will involve both the government and the community in restoring infrastructure, livelihoods, and normal life across Punjab.
