Chandigarh, November 5, 2025 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday confirmed that every woman in Punjab will receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000, directly credited to their bank accounts, following approval in the upcoming state budget.
Speaking at a public rally in Tarn Taran in support of AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu, Mann said the scheme will be implemented without any paperwork or intermediaries. “The promise of ₹1,000 made to our mothers and sisters will also be fulfilled after it is passed in the upcoming budget. Now it is time to give ₹1,000 to women every month,” he noted.
The Chief Minister described the initiative as a step toward economic empowerment and family welfare, saying it will provide relief in household expenses and increase decision-making freedom for women. “If a child in a family gets a job, the atmosphere of the entire house changes, and if a woman receives financial assistance, the whole family becomes stronger,” Mann said.
Mann, who referred to himself as the ‘Minister of Sorrows,’ also highlighted his government’s previous initiatives, including free electricity for 300 units, youth employment programs, reforms in the school system, and the opening of Aam Aadmi Clinics. He said these measures reflect the government’s focus on addressing everyday challenges faced by citizens.
The rally, organized ahead of the Tarn Taran assembly by-election on November 11, also saw Mann urging voters to support the AAP symbol, the ‘Broom.’ He added that while opposition parties were playing politics with money, his government was committed to delivering on promises made to the public.
