Sirhind, 19 August 2025 — Dr. Hitendra Suri, Managing Director of Rana Hospital, Sirhind, received the Punjab Government Certificate-2025 on Independence Day, the state’s highest civilian recognition. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann presented the award for his long-standing service in healthcare and welfare initiatives, particularly for underprivileged communities.

Punjab Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha and Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav were also present at the ceremony. “This honor is an inspiration to serve humanity with more passion,” Dr. Suri remarked, dedicating the award to the “people of Punjab.” He expressed gratitude to all those who supported his journey, calling the recognition “a golden chapter” in his career.

For more than two decades, Dr. Suri has been transforming lives through selfless medical service. Since 2011, he has organized free medical camps, performing 2,700 free surgeries and holding 135 awareness drives on rectal cancer. His contributions extend beyond medical treatment, with efforts focused on spreading awareness and delivering healthcare to marginalized communities.

Dr. Suri’s work has earned him 55 national and international honors, including the 2018 Dhanvantari Award, regarded as the highest distinction in Ayurveda. He also holds 23 records—eight international and 15 national—listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, Limca Book of Records, and World Book of Records.

His career is marked by several milestones: a landmark treatment of a 117 cm fistula using the Ayurvedic Kshar Sutra technique, authoring two medical books, and publishing 11 international research papers. In addition, he has received the District Award four times (2016, 2021, 2024 and 2025) on Independence Day.

Beyond medical service, Dr. Suri has been active in social reform. His initiative, the “Run for Life – Anti-Drug Marathon,” organized under the Punjab Government’s “War on Drugs” campaign, set a national record while spreading the message of drug de-addiction. On the same day, he was also presented with a certificate by the Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib in recognition of his efforts.

The Certificate-2025 places Dr. Suri among Punjab’s most committed health professionals and social reformers, adding to his record of achievements built over years of dedicated service.
