Chandigarh, 3 December 2024: Two-time Olympic medalist and former world champion PV Sindhu is set to marry Venkat Dutta Sai, a Hyderabad-based executive at Posidex Technologies, on December 22 in Udaipur. Sindhu recently broke her title drought with a victory at the Syed Modi International in Lucknow.
Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, shared details of the upcoming wedding, stating, “Both families have known each other for a while, but the decision was finalized last month. With Sindhu’s packed schedule starting January, December 22 was the most suitable date for the wedding. The reception will take place on December 24 in Hyderabad.”
The wedding celebrations will begin on December 20. Ramana also mentioned that Sindhu will soon return to training, with a critical season ahead.
Recognized as one of India’s greatest badminton players, Sindhu has won five World Championship medals, including gold in 2019. She secured back-to-back Olympic medals at Rio 2016 (silver) and Tokyo 2020 (bronze), achieving a career-best world ranking in 2017. Her illustrious career continues to inspire athletes across the nation.
