Chandigarh, August 20: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Rajbir Singh Ghuman, has publicly challenged Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia to provide evidence supporting corruption claims or issue an immediate public apology. In a statement shared across social media platforms, Ghuman warned that failure to substantiating the allegations would result in legal action.
The government official maintained that the political opposition is fabricating claims due to frustration over administrative changes.
“I openly challenge Bikram Singh Majithia, who has appointed himself as the spokesperson of the ED, that if he has even a single chat of mine or any evidence of me asking anyone for money, he should make it public,” Rajbir Singh Ghuman stated. “Either bring the evidence before the people or publicly apologise, otherwise be prepared to face a defamation case.”
Ghuman stated that opposition leaders are troubled by individuals from ordinary backgrounds attaining key governance roles. He added that political critics have turned to character assassination after failing to challenge the current administration on its performance and policy record.
Addressing the broader political context, the OSD declared that the state government continues to work with complete integrity for the public. He encouraged opposition leaders to engage in debates on state development rather than making unfounded claims.
