Punjab Tops RCB by Five Wickets
With the aid of Nehal Wadhera’s outstanding batting Punjab Kings defeated RCB by five wickets to record their second straight victory.The match between RCB and Punjab started late due to rain and it was decided to conduct the match for 14-14 overs. Punjab won the toss and decided to bowl first which proved to be right. RCB team could only score 95 runs for nine wickets in 14 overs. In reply, Punjab won the match by scoring 98 runs for five wickets in 12.1 overs.
Nehal Wadhera’s 33 Shines as Punjab Stumbles
For Punjab Nehal Wadhera scored an unbeaten 33 runs off 19 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. Josh Hazlewood took three wickets for RCB, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar got two successes. While chasing the target, Punjab also did not have a good start and lost two wickets for 32 runs. Prabhsimran Singh returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 and Priyansh Arya 16 runs. When Punjab’s score crossed 50 runs, the team also lost the wicket of captain Shreyas Iyer, who was out after scoring seven runs.
Punjab’s Victory Pushes RCB to Fourth in Points Table
Immediately after Shreyas’s dismissal, Hazlewood dismissed Josh Inglis, who returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs. Then Nehav Wadhera played some good shots and brought the team closer to victory, but Punjab also lost the fifth wicket in the form of Shashank Singh. Shashank was out after scoring one run. The match was looking exciting, but Marcus Stoinis, who came in as the new batsman, hit a six and gave the team victory. Stoinis returned unbeaten after scoring seven runs off two balls.
With this win, Punjab’s team has reached the second position in the points table. They have 10 points with five wins and two losses in seven matches. This is RCB’s third loss in seven matches and they are currently in fourth place with eight points with four wins.
