Chandigarh, July 25: Over 72.56 lakh women aged 18 and above have registered under the state government’s Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, reflecting widespread public trust in government welfare programs, Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu announced during a press conference.
Addressing media representatives, Pannu confirmed that beneficiaries whose registrations were completed at a later stage will receive a three-month combined payout directly into their bank accounts during the upcoming financial cycle starting August 1.
Pannu affirmed that opposition claims regarding judicial interference with the scheme were unfounded. “The Punjab and Haryana High Court has not imposed any stay on the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana,” Pannu stated, declaring that implementation will continue without interruption across all districts. District-wise figures show Ludhiana leading with 7,86,863 registrations, followed by Patiala with 5,50,035 and Amritsar with 5,39,285.
Parallel healthcare data released during the briefing revealed significant expansion under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, with over 50 lakh Sehat Cards issued state-wide. Pannu declared that the state has spent ₹917 crore to provide cashless medical treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh per family across government and empanelled private hospitals, benefiting over 50 lakh citizens.
Reflecting on broader governance metrics, Pannu maintained that welfare initiatives remain fully functional alongside existing social programs, including free power delivery covering 90 percent of domestic consumers and expanded canal water access for agricultural needs.
