Ludhiana, 3 January 2025 – Repair work being carried out at Ladowal, near Ludhiana, is expected to affect various trains until January 9.
according to reports, a total of 54 trains, including Pathankot-Delhi (22430-22429), Shan-e-Punjab (12497-12498), Amritsar-Jaynagar (04652-04651), and Jalandhar-Delhi (14682-14682), will be canceled.
Trains such as 12029-12030 Swaran Shatabdi and 12031-12032 Amritsar Shatabdi will not reach Jalandhar and will return from Ludhiana instead, prompting passengers to explore alternative travel options.
Besides, operations for trains including Darbhanga-Jalandhar (22551-22552) and trains between Agra and Hoshiarpur will be affected on January 5. Over 37 trains are also likely to experience delays, and several trains will be diverted through alternate routes.
Senior railway officials have advised passengers to check for real-time updates on train schedules before traveling to avoid inconveniences. They assured that the repair work is aimed at benefiting passengers in the long run.
On January 1-2, delays were reported for several trains. The 12715 Sachkhand Express, initially scheduled for arrival at 8:15 am, reached Amritsar 12 hours late, arriving at 9:45 am on January 2.
The Amritsar-bound 18237 Chhattisgarh Express arrived with a delay of 3.5 hours, while the Malwa 12919 Vaishno Devi Express was delayed by 3 hours, arriving at 1:30 pm. Trains coming from Jammu and Delhi also faced significant delays.
