Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has called on its party workers and leaders to gather at the party office on Monday, bringing necessary documents and evidence regarding alleged misconduct by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders stating the party has formed a legal team to prepare petitions for the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

This appeal comes as many party members claim they have been hindered from submitting their nomination papers for the upcoming panchayat elections.

SAD Vice President Daljit Singh Cheema stated that the party has formed a legal team to prepare petitions for the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

He said numerous complaints about the widespread rejection of nomination papers from opposition candidates for the positions of sarpanches and panches across the state.

Cheema indicated that the SAD delegation plans to meet with the State Election Commission to demand a thorough investigation into the violence, destruction of nomination papers of opposition candidates, and the high rate of nomination rejections on questionable grounds. If necessary, the party will file a petition in the high court.
