Rupnagar, Oct 21: A school transport vehicle belonging to Sant Karam Singh Academy overturned near Dream Palace on the Rupnagar-Jalandhar bypass after losing control over deep road craters, resulting in serious injuries to driver Vijay Kumar.
Highway patrol personnel promptly transferred the injured driver to Civil Hospital Rupnagar for medical treatment following the incident. Local residents and community leaders maintained that deteriorating road conditions along the bypass have created severe hazards, noting that numerous vehicles sustain structural damage and broken rims during nighttime travel.
Civic representatives asserted that the severity of the craters poses an ongoing threat to commuters, expressing grave concern that a major catastrophe was narrowly averted since children were not on board at the time of the rollover. Community organizations urged administrative authorities to execute urgent repairs on the thoroughfare to prevent future tragedies.
