Baramulla, Oct 26 — In response to a deadly terror attack in Botapathri on Thursday evening, security forces launched a significant search operation in the region, as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zaid Mohammed revealed that 3-4 terrorists are believed to be involved.

Speaking to reporters, SSP Mohammed explained that the operation was paused overnight but resumed early Saturday morning. “We have mobilized police, the Army, paramilitary forces, and other security agencies for this extensive combing operation,” he stated.

The search efforts are focusing on forested areas stretching from Baba Reshi to Gulmarg, along with adjacent regions. “Our operations are based on specific intelligence, and prior to the Botapathri attack, we had already initiated searches in other locations,” he noted, referring to ongoing operations in the Pattan and Kreeri areas.

The attack on Thursday resulted in the tragic deaths of five individuals, including three soldiers and two porters. The security forces are determined to locate the suspects and ensure the safety of the region.
