Ludhiana, December 26, 2024: A gruesome crime has surfaced in Mullanpur Dakha, Ludhiana, where a man and his wife allegedly murdered his father and cremated his body to cover up the act. The truth came to light when the deceased’s nephew, Kiranvir Singh, who resides in Canada, returned to India and conducted his own investigation into the suspicious death.
Jagroop Singh, a resident of Balipur, was reportedly beaten to death by his son Guriqbal Singh and daughter-in-law Surinder Kaur. After being informed about his uncle’s sudden death, Kiranvir grew suspicious upon learning that the body had been immediately cremated against his wishes. Following a personal investigation, he discovered a video showing the accused physically attacking Jagroop Singh, which led to his death.
Kiranvir Singh had maintained regular contact with his uncle, who had expressed fears of harm from his son and daughter-in-law in past conversations. The nephew instructed the family not to cremate the body until his return, but his orders were disregarded.
Upon his arrival, Kiranvir received a pendrive containing disturbing footage of the assault on Jagroop Singh. The video showed the son and daughter-in-law beating Jagroop, with the son then cremating the body without reporting the death to authorities. The wife was also sent abroad shortly after the incident.
A police investigation has been launched, and a case has been filed against Guriqbal Singh and Surinder Kaur. The couple is currently on the run. This tragedy has shocked the community, as a family’s dark secret was revealed through the efforts of a relative seeking justice for his uncle.
