Lucknow: To counter the illegal trade of regulated substances, a joint team from the Lucknow unit of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force and the Food Safety and Drug Administration seized approximately 228 kilograms of psychotropic and narcotic drugs in the Transport Nagar area. Official reports indicate that six individuals were taken into custody following surveillance at a residential premises on September 3, where team members intercepted three suspects allegedly attempting to conceal cartons. The seized items included 9.60 lakh Alprazolam tablets, 1.20 lakh Tramadol capsules, and 720 bottles of Codeine-based syrup, alongside digital devices and cash.

Subsequent inquiries led authorities to Kanhaiya Pharma, an establishment whose owner allegedly utilized paperwork from another registered entity to route billing transactions. Food Safety and Drug Administration inspectors reported that the business operator could not produce complete transaction logs for several inventory items, leading officials to seal the premises. Investigations further indicated that another suspect connected to the operation continued trading through third-party firms after his primary drug license was previously revoked in a separate legal matter.

Law enforcement personnel logged all physical items and registered cases under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Officials confirmed that procedural sampling will take place before the court as per statutory mandates, while team members continue to verify remaining supply links across local and regional distribution channels.
