03 May, 2025: IPL 2025: After the defeat against Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s hopes of reaching the playoffs are almost over, but they are still caught in the ifs and buts. That is, even though the road ahead has become difficult for Sunrisers, the path to the playoffs is not completely closed. Gujarat defeated Sunrisers by 38 runs in the match played in Ahmedabad on Friday.
Hyderabad in ninth place

How can Sunrisers reach the playoffs?
If Sunrisers want to remain in the playoff race, they will have to win all their four matches. However, doing just this will not be enough because Sunrisers will also have to depend on the results of other teams. Sunrisers will have to win all their remaining matches by a big margin so that their net run rate can improve. If the team is successful in doing so, it will have 14 points. Last season, RCB also managed to reach the playoffs with 14 points. Currently, Mumbai, Gujarat and RCB have 14-14 points and Punjab Kings are in fourth place with 13 points.

- Lucknow Super Giants beat Punjab and Gujarat, but lost against RCB and Sunrisers.
- KKR also lost two of their four matches.
If all these things happen, then Sunrisers may have a chance to go to the playoffs. This is because in this situation, Sunrisers, Lucknow and Gujarat will have 14-14 points and Sunrisers can enter the last four on the basis of better net run rate. However, this is not so easy, so the hopes of Sunrisers to reach the playoffs are nothing less than a miracle.
