New Delhi, June 15: The National Testing Agency stated that nearly four lakh candidates successfully secured their admit cards for the upcoming NEET UG 2026 re-examination, despite widespread reports of technical difficulties on the official portal. The apex testing body noted that active measures are underway to resolve the ongoing website complications and ensure smooth access for all remaining aspirants.
The portal issues came to light after numerous medical aspirants scheduled for the re-test expressed frustration over operational failures on the official platform. The testing agency had previously cautioned applicants regarding potential server slowdowns, attributing the traffic spikes to the massive volume of users attempting to log into the system simultaneously.
According to the established guidelines, candidates are required to complete a mandatory step confirming their banking details for potential refunds before the system permits them to download their hall tickets. A substantial number of students reported getting stuck during this specific verification stage, which effectively barred them from accessing their exam entry documents.
The re-examination is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 21, from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm utilizing the traditional pen-and-paper format. This academic year saw a massive turnout with approximately 22.75 lakh initial applicants, out of which around 22.05 lakh students participated in the first screening held on May 3. Administrative officials declared that the upcoming session will be conducted under strict surveillance protocols to maintain complete transparency.
Logistical and security preparations have drawn heightened attention from the central administration as the test date nears. Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan recently conducted a comprehensive review of the operational arrangements, calling for seamless coordination between the exam administrators, local law enforcement, and security personnel.
