Manakpur, Feb 8: Punjab government successfully engaged 17.5 lakh parents in a single day through a series of structured school-level workshops. The programme, spearheaded by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, covered every government school in the state on Saturday.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to collaborative learning and holistic child development. He mentioned that the workshops provided parents with insights into academic progress and methods to support learning at home.

“Today’s event has further solidified a powerful partnership between schools and students’ families,” Bains said. He noted that the sessions, which lasted between 60 and 90 minutes, were designed to create a more supportive home environment for students facing upcoming exams.

The administrative execution involved the deployment of Directors and District Education Officers to monitor the proceedings. This follows the success of a similar workshop held in December 2025. Bains said the participation of high-ranking officials and dozens of MLAs demonstrated a unified commitment to the state’s education system.

The Minister directly said that the goal is to ensure every child achieves academic success alongside overall well-being. He mentioned that the government remains focused on making parents active participants in the educational process to ensure a secure future for the youth.
