Three Held with Heroin, Weapons Near Attari

Amritsar, May 28– Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Amritsar range, arrested three alleged drug traffickers near Shankar Dhaba on the Attari Road on Wednesday, seizing heroin and illegal weapons reportedly smuggled from Pakistan.

The accused have been identified as Maninderjit Singh, Peter, and Lovejit Singh alias Raja. A total of 521 grams of heroin, four PX5 storm pistols, seven magazines, and 55 live cartridges were recovered from their possession, police said.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav shared the update on X, stating: “The ANTF has arrested three smugglers along Attari road with heroin and sophisticated weapons. We are actively pursuing forward and backward linkages to dismantle the entire network.”

Police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Arms Act at the ANTF police station in Mohali. Investigations are ongoing.
