Jind, 30 November 2024: Trains on the Jind-Delhi route have been canceled due to fog, impacting commuters until February and potentially beyond, according to railway authorities.
The affected services include train numbers 04424 and 04988 Jind-Delhi Special Express, canceled from December 1 to February 28, 2025.
Besides, train number 04987 Delhi-Jind Passenger will not operate from December 2 to March 1, while train number 04431 Delhi-Jakhal Passenger faces suspension from December 1 to February 28, with its status still under review.
Jind Railway Junction Superintendent JS Kundu confirmed the cancellations, citing foggy conditions as the primary reason. “The status of train number 04431 will be clarified in the next day or two,” Kundu said.
The cancellations have sparked concerns among passengers. Dainik Yatri Welfare Association President Surinder Panchal and Secretary Surinder Kumar have urged railway authorities via social media to resume services for trains 04424 and 04431, bringing out the inconvenience caused to daily commuters.
“If these trains are stopped, passengers will face significant difficulties,” Kumar said, adding that thousands rely on these trains for work and studies in Delhi and Rohtak. The suspension is expected to disrupt travel plans for workers and students alike, forcing them to seek alternative arrangements.
