Chandigarh, November 13, 2024: The Haryana Vidhan Sabha session opened with a solemn tribute as members remembered prominent figures, freedom fighters, and martyred soldiers
According to reports, the House observed a moment of silence in honor of the fallen and extended sympathies to their families.
Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini led the remembrance, followed by Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harwinder Kalyan and opposition leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda, who paid their respects on behalf of their respective parties.
The assembly honored the memories of former Haryana ministers Jaswant Singh and Bhagi Ram, along with ex-MLAs Hari Singh Saini, Randhir Singh, Naresh Yadav, Subhash Chaudhary, and Rakesh Daulatabad. The House also paid homage to Padma Vibhushan awardee Ratna Naval Tata and Hari Singh.
Moreover, lawmakers expressed sorrow over the tragic death of six children in a school bus accident near Kanina village in Mahendragarh district on April 11, 2024, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
Tributes were also paid to 46 brave soldiers from Haryana who displayed exceptional courage and sacrificed their lives in service to the nation, honoring their contribution to preserving the country’s unity and integrity.
