Chandigarh, Sept 25: Night temperatures across the Tricity registered a sudden upward trend over the past twenty-four hours, with Chandigarh recording a minimum temperature of 25°C, marking a 1.8°C climb from the previous day. Meteorological data indicates that night readings stood 1.6°C above the seasonal average, while daytime temperatures settled at 35.1°C, remaining 3.2°C above normal expectations despite a mild drop.
The regional weather profile showed varied thermal readings across neighboring locations. Mohali logged the highest night temperature in the Tricity belt at 26.1°C, placing it among the warmest locations in the region alongside Bathinda’s 27°C. Meanwhile, Panchkula maintained its position as the coolest city in the cluster with a minimum reading of 23.9°C, maintaining a lower threshold compared to both Chandigarh and Mohali despite experiencing a overnight rise.
Weather observations reported no rainfall across the Tricity, maintaining a seasonal precipitation deficit of 16.7 per cent for Chandigarh with total seasonal rainfall standing at 697.6 mm. Relative humidity fluctuated between 50 per cent and 81 per cent, pointing to sustained atmospheric moisture. Weather monitoring forecasts suggest predominantly dry conditions initially, followed by potential thunderstorm or rain activity toward the latter part of the week, with night temperatures expected to gradually settle lower over coming days.
