New York, 13 November 2024: President-elect Donald Trump has announced that tech billionaire Elon Musk will join his cabinet as head of a newly created ‘Department of Government Efficiency.’ Musk, the CEO of Tesla, will share this role with Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, signaling Trump’s focus on streamlining federal operations.
“These two remarkable Americans will be instrumental in dismantling government bureaucracy, cutting excess regulations, eliminating wasteful spending, and restructuring federal agencies,” Trump said in a statement, underlining his ‘Save America’ agenda.
He added, “I look forward to Elon and Vivek driving efficiency within the federal bureaucracy and improving life for all Americans.”
Trump’s decision comes on the heels of a significant victory in the presidential election, where he defeated Democratic rival Kamala Harris, securing all seven swing states. In his victory speech, Trump praised Musk as a “super genius,” noting the billionaire’s active participation in the campaign.
“Elon is an amazing guy—a new star is born. He spent two weeks in Philadelphia and various parts of Pennsylvania campaigning with us,” Trump told his supporters.
Musk, a vocal supporter of Trump throughout the campaign, contributed over $100 million to Trump’s election efforts and frequently expressed his backing on social media platform ‘X.’
His involvement played a notable role in rallying support, especially in key battleground states.
