Ghaziabad, September 17: Two men accused of carrying out last week’s firing outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s home in Bareilly were killed in a joint police operation near Ghaziabad on Wednesday, officials said.

The Delhi Police Special Cell, along with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Haryana STF, intercepted the suspects near Tronica City, leading to an exchange of fire. In a statement, Delhi Police said, “Some time ago, in a joint operation of Delhi Police Special Cell, UP STF and Haryana STF, two active criminals of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang were injured in a shootout near Tronica City, Ghaziabad.”

The men, identified as Ravinder from Kahni village in Haryana’s Rohtak district and Arun from Sonepat, were rushed to a hospital in Loni, Ghaziabad, where doctors declared them dead.

Police confirmed that the duo was directly involved in the September 11 incident, when several rounds were fired outside Patani’s Bareilly residence. The shooting had sparked concern over celebrity security and prompted a wider investigation into the Godara-Brar gang’s activities across states.

Shortly after the Bareilly firing, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar had claimed responsibility on social media. Screenshots of his post, circulating online, suggested the attack was carried out in response to alleged remarks made by Patani and her sister about two religious figures, Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya.

Officials said Brar’s message also carried threats and tagged several individuals suspected to be his associates. “The post reflected both intimidation and an attempt to rally support within his network,” one official noted.

The encounter on Wednesday marks a major development in the ongoing crackdown against organized crime groups operating across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Police sources indicated that further investigations are underway to identify other members involved in planning and executing the Bareilly attack.
