Chandigarh, Oct 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted a series of visits across Gurdaspur, Sangrur, and Mansa on Tuesday to meet families affected by anti-drug advocacy efforts in the state. Following meetings with the relatives of the late Bikramjit Singh in Gurdaspur and the family of Gulzar Singh in Sangrur, the official proceeded to Mansa district to engage with the family of slain activist Parvinder Jhota. The outreach forms part of a broader itinerary focused on addressing community concerns surrounding synthetic drug availability in border areas.

During the visit to Toor Banjara village in Sangrur, the Home Minister offered condolences to the surviving kin before departing for the final engagement in Mansa. The schedule underscores central government engagement with local families who have voiced opposition to illegal substance distribution in the region.
