Lucknow, Oct 9: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved a proposal to provide two free LPG cylinder refills to Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries during the 2026-27 financial year.
The initiative will roll out in two distinct operational phases, with the first distribution running from October to December 2026 and the second spanning January to March 2027.
State officials confirmed that the welfare measure carries an estimated financial outlay of ₹2,142.78 crore, continuing the administration’s policy of supporting household energy needs during key festive periods.
The state government emphasized that eligibility remains linked to Aadhaar-authenticated accounts to ensure direct delivery of benefits.
Officials stated that providing clean cooking fuel regularly has significantly reduced indoor air pollution, protecting the health of women and children while encouraging sustainable energy adoption across rural households.
