Lucknow, July 22: The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation has initiated comprehensive preparations to ensure continuous electricity supply and maintain high safety standards across the state during the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. Following directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, senior energy department officials convened a review meeting to establish strict protocols for maintaining power infrastructure at temples and along pilgrimage routes.

Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) and UPPCL Chairman, Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal, affirmed that all maintenance work related to electrical safety must be finalized before the pilgrimage begins.

“Adequate electrical materials are available in all regions of the state,” Dr. Goyal declared during the meeting. “Executive Engineers have also been provided with financial powers and funds to procure required materials at the local level so that power supply can be restored in the shortest possible time in the event of natural disasters or adverse weather conditions.”

Officials maintained that Superintending Engineers will face direct administrative action if transformer failures occur due to negligence. To prevent accidents during the monsoon season, the power corporation has mandated field inspections, fast-tracking of temporary connections for pilgrimage camps, and mandatory safety gear for technical staff during repairs.
