Lucknow, August 26 — Following reports of severe flooding in the Bhotekoshi River across the Rasuwa region of Nepal, Uttar Pradesh has stepped up vigilance in its border districts. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed concern over the damage caused by the sudden deluge and instructed the administrative machinery in Maharajganj and Kushinagar to ensure complete disaster readiness.
The floodwaters from Nepal are expected to cause a swell in the Gandak and Narayani rivers downstream. In response, local administrations have been directed to keep river water levels under continuous observation and maintain round-the-clock monitoring.
The Chief Minister maintained that the situation across the border remains alarming and offered prayers to Lord Pashupatinath for the safety, health, and protection of all affected communities. Administrative teams across the border region remain fully prepared to handle any potential water rise.
