Due to the shutdown of the airports in Dharamsala and Chandigarh, a venue change is required. According to Report, the GCA has been asked for its opinion by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and it is thought that the association has expressed its willingness to participate.
Logistical Challenges for Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings
The Mumbai Indians, who have been waiting since Wednesday to hear from the BCCI on their trip, are reportedly scheduled to depart for Ahmedabad on Thursday night. It is believed that the franchise was instructed by the BCCI to verify the information by this evening. Due to the airport closures, the MI squad canceled Wednesday’s scheduled trip to Dharamsala via Chandigarh, as previously reported.
Officials from the Punjab Kings insist that they have not heard anything. The team is still getting ready for Thursday night’s game against the Delhi Capitals at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
BCCI Faces Logistical Hurdles
But with the airport closed, the BCCI still faces logistical difficulties. If there are no planes, the team might have to travel to Delhi by car for ten hours in order to get to other IPL venues.
