June 4, IPL 2025 Final: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) veteran batsman Virat Kohli says that his heart and soul have always been with Bangalore. RCB won the IPL title for the first time by defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the final played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Kohli has been a part of the RCB franchise since the inception of the IPL and finally in the 18th season, he could lift the IPL trophy.
Kohli became emotional
Kohli could not control his emotions at the Narendra Modi Stadium. As soon as it was confirmed in the last over that RCB would now win this match, Kohli became emotional. After RCB won the title, Kohli hugged wife Anushka Sharma. Not only this, he also danced with joy after meeting former team players AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.
Kohli told the broadcaster after RCB’s victory, here, emotionally, the Red Army is sitting right behind me. This moment is unbelievable. This victory is as important for the fans as it is for the team. It has been 18 years. I have given this team the early part of my career, the best part of my career and now my experience. Every season, I have given my best to make the team win. Finally coming to this moment, it is an incredible feeling.
Kohli said – I got satisfaction by winning the title with RCB
Kohli said that winning the title with Bangalore gave him a lot of satisfaction and he did not want this story to go any other way. He said, I have won almost every other trophy, World Cup, T20, ODI, Champions Trophy. But IPL? This is absolutely paramount. I have given my everything for 18 years. I have been loyal to this team, no matter what. There were moments when I thought of something else, but I stood with them and they stood with me. I always dreamed of winning the trophy with them (RCB).
Will play for RCB till the end’
He said, this is more special than winning with any other team. My heart is with Bangalore. My soul is with Bangalore and this is the team I will play for till my last IPL match. As a player you dream of winning big and that dream did not come true. Tonight I am going to sleep like a baby.
