Chandigarh, June 15: The body of a 28-year-old woman was discovered in a forested area near Dhanas on Sunday afternoon, prompting police to launch a murder investigation. The deceased, identified as Raveena, was a resident of Bapu Dham Colony in Sector 26.
The discovery was made around 2 pm by a local watchman, who immediately alerted the police. Responding teams reached the site and sealed off the area, calling in forensic experts to examine the scene.
While a significant amount of blood was found near the body, police said there were no visible injury marks.
“The exact cause of death will only be known after the post-mortem examination,” said an official from the local police station.
A case has been registered, and the investigation is underway to determine whether foul play was involved.
