CHANDAPURA (ANEKAL), May 21:  A woman’s body was found stuffed inside a suitcase near the railway tracks in Chandapura on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Wednesday, triggering a murder probe, police said.

According to Bengaluru Rural SP CK Baba, the suitcase was likely thrown from a moving train, and the body bore no visible injury marks. Police suspect the woman, aged around 18 or older, may have been strangled or smothered, but the exact cause of death will be confirmed after a post-mortem.

A passerby noticed the suitcase near the tracks and alerted authorities. Upon inspection, police found no ID or personal belongings in the luggage, only the victim’s body.

“We have registered a case of murder at Suryanagar police station and launched a full investigation,” SP Baba said, adding that the victim’s identity is yet to be established.

Investigators believe the woman may have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped in a remote area to avoid detection.
