GURUGRAM, June 12 — A retired IAS couple raised alarm after discovering a worm in the salad served to them at a well-known restaurant in Gurugram, prompting swift action from the Food Safety Department.
The couple recorded a video of the contaminated dish and filed a complaint with the authorities. Acting promptly, food safety officials collected samples for testing and issued a notice to the restaurant, instructing it to submit all relevant documents and its explanation within 10 days.
“Samples have been collected and sent to the lab for detailed testing,” said Ramesh Chauhan, Food Safety Officer. He added that although the couple reported the matter, they have chosen not to pursue further legal action.
The incident has sparked concern among patrons and serves as a reminder of the need for strict hygiene in food establishments. The restaurant’s response and the lab results are awaited.
