Mohali, 19 November 2024: A young man died on the spot after his Thar vehicle overturned into a deep ditch in Mohali’s Sector 86. The accident occurred late Monday evening while road repair work was underway in the area, leaving the vehicle’s occupants in shock and mourning.
The victim, Sahil, a Ludhiana resident, was traveling with his fiancée, a friend, and the friend’s wife. They were heading home when the vehicle lost balance near the construction site and plunged into the ditch. Sahil sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the others survived the crash.
According to officials, Sahil’s wedding was scheduled to take place in three months. Preparations were already underway, but the joyous anticipation has turned into profound grief for his family.
The Suhana police have registered a case against the contractor responsible for the roadwork, citing negligence. Officials stated that inadequate safety measures at the construction site likely contributed to the tragic accident.
Authorities are investigating further to determine accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future.
