AMRITSAR, July 19 — The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has received yet another threatening email warning of a bomb attack on the Golden Temple, marking the eighth such threat since July 14, officials confirmed on Saturday.

Security around the revered Sikh shrine has been significantly tightened. Armed police units have been stationed at key points outside the temple, while plainclothes personnel are patrolling within the complex to prevent any potential incident.

An SGPC official said the latest email threat was received late Friday night. The repeated nature of the threats has triggered growing concern within the Sikh religious body.

Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, the officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht, questioned the inability of both central and state intelligence agencies to track down those responsible. “It’s disturbing that despite multiple threats to one of the most sacred sites, the agencies have not yet identified the perpetrators,” he said.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar confirmed that the investigation is underway and a suspect named Shubham Dubey is currently being interrogated. “Technical analysis in such cyber-related cases takes time,” Bhullar said, assuring that authorities are closing in on the source of the threats.

Officials have urged the public to remain calm while maintaining vigilance. The SGPC said it is in constant coordination with security agencies to safeguard the sanctity and safety of the Golden Temple.
