Mohali, March 21, 2025, Mohali police arrested a man with 11 grams of heroin at a check post in Phase 8 on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Akashdeep Singh from Ferozepur, currently resides in Kumbra village, Mohali. His arrest is part of an anti-narcotics drive led by Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Pareek.
Officer-in-charge Navdeep Singh, who headed the operation, confirmed that a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at the Phase-8 police station.
Deputy Superintendent of Police HS Bal said efforts are underway to trace Singh’s accomplices and identify the source of the contraband.
“We suspect the accused may be linked to a larger drug supply network. Further arrests are expected as the investigation progresses,” Bal said.
