New York/Toronto, April 27— The Dawoodi Bohra community in Queens, New York, gathered on Sunday to honor the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, condemning the violence that claimed the lives of 26 innocent people.
In a post on X, the community stated, “The Dawoodi Bohra community condemns the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This tragic event has taken the lives of innocent people, leaving families heartbroken.
In solidarity with the victims and to honor their memory, our community members across the world observe a moment of silence.
Meanwhile, in Toronto, over 500 people from diverse communities came together to participate in a vigil and rally organized by Hindu Forum Canada, COHNA, and several other Hindu organizations.
Attendees, including Hindus, Jews, Baloch, Iranians, and Canadians from other backgrounds, marched through the streets chanting “Pakistan Murdabad” and called on the Canadian government to officially designate Pakistan as a terrorist state.
The rally’s speakers voiced the need for immediate and decisive action against terrorism, denouncing not only the attack in Kashmir but also the broader threat of Islamist-Jihadi extremism.
Community leaders, from Hindu groups to Jewish, Iranian, Baloch, and others, united in a show of strength, affirming a shared commitment to combating terrorism.
Participants honored the victims of the Pahalgam attack with candles and prayers, sending a clear message that terrorism must be confronted head-on, not ignored.
