GURDASPUR, July 19 — The Punjab government has suspended Naib Tehsildar Jasvir Kaur, posted in Fatehgarh Churian, following the emergence of a viral video allegedly showing her accepting a bribe from a Patwari inside her office.

The video, which circulated widely on social media platforms, triggered immediate outrage and drew the attention of senior state officials. Acting promptly, the government suspended both Jasvir Kaur and the Patwari visible in the footage.

“This government has zero tolerance for corruption. No official, no matter their rank, will be spared if found indulging in bribery or misconduct,” a senior official in the Revenue Department said.

According to official orders, Jasvir Kaur has been directed to report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Fazilka while a formal investigation is underway. The suspension will remain in place until the probe is completed.

The Revenue Department said both officials’ conduct had violated the ethical code of service and brought disrepute to the administration.

This action underscores the Punjab government’s ongoing commitment to cracking down on corruption and enforcing accountability within its ranks.
