Chandigarh: The Chandigarh administration has announced an increase in minimum wages effective from April 1 to September 30, 2024. This adjustment follows an evaluation of the consumer price index figures provided by the UT Labour Bureau.
Under the new wage structure, monthly salaries for unskilled workers will rise from ₹13,659 to ₹13,834, while daily wages will increase from ₹525 to ₹532.
Similarly, for semi-skilled employees, monthly wages will see an increase from ₹13,809 to ₹13,985, with daily wages going up from ₹535 to ₹542.
This minimum wage revision is expected to benefit thousands of workers employed in factories and shops throughout Chandigarh.
