AMRITSAR, Oct. 10, 2024: Amritsar Rural Police have arrested three persons in connection with illegal arms smuggling operations that transported weapons from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab.
The arrests were made during two separate operations that resulted in the seizure of eight pistols, 17 live cartridges, and four magazines, according to Police.
Authorities revealed that the arrested suspects were allegedly providing financial support to criminal gangs involved in organized crime.
Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced the successful operations via social media platform X, stating that the police are committed to dismantling organized crime and illegal arms smuggling networks.
“The Punjab Police will follow both forward and backward links to bust the entire network,” he said.
