MUMBAI, Jan 24 — Actor Kamaal Rashid Khan, widely known as KRK, was taken into custody on Saturday following a shooting incident at a residential complex in the Oshiwara neighborhood of Andheri. Police officials confirmed the arrest after investigations linked the actor to bullets discovered within the building premises earlier this week.

The arrest followed an intensive questioning session at the Oshiwara police station late Friday night. During the interrogation, the actor reportedly confessed to the discharge of his weapon. “In his statement, the actor admitted to firing two rounds using his licensed firearm,” a police official said.

The incident dates back to January 18, when two bullets were fired at the Nalanda Society. Investigators recovered the projectiles from the second and fourth floors of the building. Authorities noted that the targeted locations included flats belonging to a model and a writer-director.

While initial efforts to identify a suspect through CCTV footage proved unsuccessful, a forensic analysis provided the necessary breakthrough. The technical evaluation indicated that the shots originated from Khan’s nearby bungalow.

Law enforcement has registered a case against the actor under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Regarding the reasons behind the incident, a police official noted that the exact motive behind the firing is yet to be ascertained.
