Uri, March 15: A Pakistani terrorist was killed during the intervening night of March 14–15 after security forces intercepted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The joint operation, conducted by Army troops and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, took place in the Buchhar area following specific intelligence regarding the movement.
An official stated that the ambush was laid after the police shared information about a potential breach of the border. During the operation, alert personnel spotted suspicious activity within the thick vegetation of the sector. The official maintained that the security team readjusted their positions to challenge the individual, who responded by firing indiscriminately.
“The ambush party challenged the terrorist, triggering a brief exchange of gunfire in which the infiltrator was neutralized,” the official declared.
Authorities affirmed that a search of the site led to the recovery of significant warlike stores. Among the items seized were an AK rifle, multiple pistols, and a substantial cache of ammunition. The official asserted that the prompt action by the joint teams successfully prevented the planned entry into the valley.
