Gurugram, May 23: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal traveled to Gurugram on Saturday to conduct an unannounced meeting with jailed lawmaker Sanjeev Arora, party insiders confirmed.
The two high-profile leaders drove directly from New Delhi to the high-security Bhondsi jail facility during the afternoon. After securing formal authorization from prison administrators, the senior figures conducted a closed-door meeting with the Rajya Sabha member and former state minister, who is presently held under judicial custody following an enforcement action by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Local law enforcement and prison deployment teams re-established strict security parameters along the jail perimeter for the duration of the visit.
“The visit was aimed at expressing solidarity with the MP amid ongoing legal proceedings,” a party strategist stated, noting that the delegation intended to deliver explicit moral and organizational backing to the detained leader.
Arora entered judicial remand following an order from a regional court regarding an ongoing central agency investigation. Despite the heightened political speculation surrounding the unbriefed appearance of both Mann and Kejriwal, neither the Aam Aadmi Party central leadership nor the regional prison department issued formal statements detailing the exact transcripts or precise duration of the jailhouse meeting.
