Chandigarh, May 23: The Haryana Government will provide free transport facilities on all state roadways buses for candidates appearing in the upcoming National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) re-examination, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced Saturday.

The state transit waiver will remain active on June 20 and June 21 to accommodate travel ahead of the scheduled June 21 national test. According to a state communication, candidates can utilize the free transport services across all regional routes by presenting their official exam admit cards to transit conductors. Saini noted that the administration is focused on removing logistical hurdles for students, allowing them to reach their designated testing facilities smoothly and without financial strain.

The initial May 3 examination cycle was rescinded by central administrators following reports of procedural inconsistencies and structural irregularities during the testing process.

“The state government is committed to supporting students and ensuring they can take competitive exams without inconvenience,” Saini stated.

The policy mirrors previous administrative measures implemented by the state. Saini noted that the government had deployed a similar free transport network during the recent Common Eligibility Test (CET) to assist regional applicants. The announcement follows a related policy shift in neighboring Punjab, where Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann authorized free state-bus transit for NEET aspirants on May 20.

The coordinated transport relief programs across both states emerged after student groups voiced concerns over the financial liabilities and severe mental pressure caused by unexpected examination cancellations.
