LUCKNOW, June 8 — The Uttar Pradesh government finalized plans on Monday to construct five new Integrated AYUSH Hospitals and Colleges across several divisions, aiming to broaden regional access to traditional medical education and local healthcare services. The upcoming institutional hubs will be distributed across the Devipatan, Mirzapur, Meerut, Agra, and Basti divisions.

The infrastructure project seeks to blend historical therapeutic disciplines—including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy—with modern clinical sciences.

“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is continuously working towards strengthening India’s traditional medical heritage alongside modern healthcare facilities,” stated Ranjan Kumar, Principal Secretary of the AYUSH Department, adding that the development focuses on creating safe and affordable medical options.

The administrative tracking of the project confirmed that necessary land parcels have already been transferred to the department across four of the designated divisions. The targeted sites encompass 14.82 acres in Gonda, 13.83 acres in Mirzapur, 11 acres in Ghaziabad, and 13.5 acres in Agra, while a 15-acre acquisition in Basti remains in its final regulatory stage.

Departmental planners noted that the decentralized campus model will allow rural students to pursue advanced medical certificates without migrating to distant metropolitan areas.

“The blueprint for the Government Integrated AYUSH College and Hospital is currently being prepared,” affirmed AYUSH Director General and Mission Director Chaitra V.

The director general stated that the finalized complexes will feature specialized laboratories and active training clinics, shifting the facilities from basic teaching centers into dedicated zones for clinical research. The administration maintained that the institutional expansion will systematically build a skilled medical workforce capable of treating chronic lifestyle conditions through verified traditional methods.
