Ludhiana, June 17: A fresh wave of security checks was triggered across Ludhiana on Wednesday after a threatening email was received by senior administrative and civic bodies. The communication, sent to the official digital addresses of the Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner and the Municipal Corporation, warned of a coordinated attack using a human bomb. Intelligence services and technical teams immediately initiated tracking procedures to identify the sender and locate the point of origin.
Security agencies quickly verified that similar anonymous dispatches targeting prominent figures, including local leadership and public venues, had been reported within the past month. Law enforcement teams deployed anti-sabotage squads to sweep the administrative premises, while transport authorities maintained vigilance along regional railway networks.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Dev Singh affirmed that immediate defensive protocols were activated upon receiving the alert. “After receiving the information about the bomb threat email, police teams thoroughly checked the buildings and found nothing,” the senior police official stated.
The digital message, dispatched from an external email address, detailed an explicit timeline for multiple explosions, targeting municipal buildings as well as transport infrastructure. It made references to historical political assassinations while issuing threats against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Cybercrime investigators asserted that the situation is being managed using advanced digital analytics to isolate the specific network route used by the sender. Officials declared that technical details including IP addresses and digital footprints are being examined closely.
Previous electronic threats sent to educational institutions and regional airport facilities in May had all been verified as malicious hoaxes. Local authorities maintained that while past messages were designed solely to incite public panic, all threat protocols will continue to be executed with full operational seriousness.
