Lucknow, July 11 — The state is actively enhancing the transparency, quality, and technological framework of its healthcare services through a specialized quality improvement campaign. Spearheaded by the State Agency for Comprehensive Health Insurance (SACHIS) under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the initiative focuses on delivering safer and more reliable medical care to Ayushman Bharat Yojana beneficiaries.
SACHIS Chief Executive Officer Archana Verma declared that 800 hospitals accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) have successfully undergone comprehensive training aligned with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission guidelines. Conducted by the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare in Lucknow, the program familiarized hospital teams with digital health system procedures while resolving technical issues and operational complaints on the spot.
The Government of India provides specific incentive support to NABH-accredited facilities to help maintain these high standards of care. SACHIS continues to motivate empanelled hospitals to fulfill these quality benchmarks, ensuring that every associated medical center offers safe, dignified, and standardized treatment.
Simultaneously, the administration maintains a firm stance on operational compliance, implementing a strict policy regarding financial irregularities, illegal cash collections, and unauthorized upcoding.
Verma affirmed that decisive action is taken whenever investigations validate complaints against a facility. In the current financial year, penalties totaling approximately Rs 1.16 crore have been leveled against non-compliant hospitals, with around Rs 60 lakh already recovered.
The CEO maintained that payments due to the concerned hospitals have been temporarily withheld to secure the remaining recovery amount. Furthermore, facilities that repeatedly fail to align with the regulatory framework face suspension from the healthcare scheme.
The agency aims to build a robust network of hospitals dedicated to transparency and patient-centric care rather than simply expanding the number of empanelled centers. To further extend specialized treatment options for beneficiaries, the process of integrating various Central Government hospitals into the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana network is currently underway.
