Lucknow, July 11 — Significant progress is being made under the state’s ambitious welfare campaign aimed at ensuring that poor and deprived households receive complete coverage under eligible public welfare programs.
Review data from the Zero Poverty Uttar Pradesh campaign indicates that 4,25,101 families have already achieved saturation across all eligible welfare initiatives. Official projections indicate that once the targets under the housing scheme are fully realized, this figure is expected to rise by approximately 30 percent, securing long-term resources for vulnerable households.
The initial phase of the drive focused on eight critical programs, recording a coverage rate of 97 percent for Ration Cards, 98 percent for the Nirashrit Mahila Pension, 95 percent for Shramik Cards, and 92 percent for the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme. Additional efforts are currently being directed toward expanding the reach of the Kisan Samman Nidhi and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Subsequent phases of the campaign introduced expanded services, achieving full saturation in school enrollments, toilet assistance, and the formation of Self-Help Groups. Progress continues steadily across other vital areas, including clean drinking water access, electricity connections, and the Ujjwala cooking gas program.
In regional performance assessments, Hathras secured the top position in the state by achieving a scheme saturation level of 78 percent. Other leading areas include Ghaziabad, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Badaun, Amroha, Maharajganj, Meerut, Baghpat, and Gorakhpur. Conversely, the areas requiring the most acceleration in performance include Agra, Mau, Prayagraj, Banda, Ballia, Fatehpur, Firozabad, Shravasti, Bahraich, and Unnao.
A core component of the initiative involves integrating young adults into livelihood and vocational training networks. Approximately 19 lakh youth between the ages of 18 and 35 have been identified for these initiatives. To date, 43,647 individuals have completed their training, while more than 1.14 lakh youth have been designated for upcoming skill development courses.
Officials affirmed that thousands of participants are securing sustainable opportunities through targeted state programs, including the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana, and the One District One Product framework. The overarching goal remains to foster self-reliance and entrepreneurship alongside traditional job placements.
The campaign has also successfully expanded collaborations with social organizations and Corporate Social Responsibility partners. Through these coordinated agreements, joint efforts will focus on livelihood development, medical checkups, nutrition support, and providing assistive devices for persons with disabilities, ensuring a comprehensive support system to help families transition out of poverty.
