Chandigarh, August 1: Aam Aadmi Party Member of Parliament from Sangrur, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, condemned the central administration following the Geo-blocking of his recent parliamentary address on Instagram within India.
Addressing media representatives in Chandigarh, the MP stated that restricting access to a speech delivered inside Parliament by an elected representative violates democratic norms and keeps vital public discussions from reaching citizens. He asserted that the action reflects growing intolerance toward constructive critique regarding youth employment, education, and examination reforms.
“If what is said inside Parliament is not allowed to reach the public, there can be no greater example of dictatorship,” AAP MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer declared.
He maintained that his address during the discussion on the NEET examination highlighted structural concerns within the education framework and reflected the collective demands of candidates nationwide. The MP stated that the central government remains concerned by the widespread, cross-community unity displayed by youth advocating for systemic integrity in national competitive tests.
He affirmed that the party’s legal division is analyzing the development to evaluate constitutional and legal remedies to protect democratic expression.
