New Delhi, August 5: Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal was stopped by security forces while leading a march toward the Prime Minister’s residence to submit over 233,000 public petitions opposing the mandatory roll-out of E20 petrol. Following the intervention by law enforcement, the party leader held a brief sit-in on the road until officials took custody of the physical petitions. Party leaders asserted that the current fuel policy severely impacts vehicle longevity, reduces mileage, and places an unfair financial burden on millions of motorists across the country.
Addressing media representatives following the demonstration, the AAP Chief declared that the central administration is refusing to engage with public concerns or offer alternative fuel choices at service stations. He maintained that international trade pressures are driving decisions that favor external commercial interests rather than domestic consumers. Party officials affirmed that resolutions seeking the withdrawal of E20 fuel will be introduced in multiple state assemblies, adding that the organization will continue to mobilize public support until the policy is reconsidered.
